National Director of cbm-NZ (cbmnz.org.nz) - an international development organisation working with persons with disabilities in the developing world, so often the most disadvantaged of all of the world's poorest. Climate change is having such a huge impact on the lives of those living in the world's poorest places and if we don't act now it could well be too late for millions of people. People with disabilities will be the first to suffer, the first to die and it is up to those of us in the west to act - NOW! Caring for the world's poor requires so much more than us donating (although this really helps!) but we need to change how we act and live so we can build a sustainable future where elimination of poverty is a reality rather than a pipe dream. It is possible - if we get serious about it!
