Getting sign ons - online

I have a huge address book in my work email account (everyone I have ever sent an email to, their address is automatically stored by my email programme). I couldn't transfer them using the new tool as its a secured account rather than a gmail/hotmail etc. So I went into my email programme and exported all of the contacts from there to a spreadsheet and deleted the all the people I didn't really know (but left in suppliers and other work contacts I know reasonable well). This was great as I certainly don't have 190 friends!

Here are the steps to do - its really easy:
1. in your email programme find the address book in the menus
2. in your address book look for the export option in the menus
3. follow the prompts and export it as a CSV file, save it somewhere you can find it.
4. find the file and open it in excel, and delete the rows of contacts for people you don't want to send an invite.
5. select and copy (ctrl + C) the email addresses of all the people you want to invite
6. Go to the invite section of the Sign On website and in the emaill addresses box paste the addresses (ctrl + V).

Hey presto - you can send an invite to all your contacts :)

Good for us to have such sign-on campaigns but I feel we can do a bit more than this to contribute from our end.
People are signing on and the numbers grow and we get happy that there a lot of people who think like we do but really we need actions here.
The earth is not going to change by signatures,it is going to change by firm decisions from our end.
How many times have we told ourselves that we will not take our car to work today but would take public transport ? People avoid avoiding taking cars because they would have to walk a block to reach their offices. Is this not going to contribute towards a healthy lifestyle of walking unknowingly !
People suffer from obesity and this ailment takes its toll in dollars,pounds,sterlings and what not.
A lot money can be saved out of booze and party and unnecessary government "aids and funds" to countries to prevent terrorism (countries who as a state policy "do" sponsor terrorism out of such US government aids!).
Where is all the money going? have we ever thought about it? We pay taxes and it goes unutilized i.e. not used in saving our earth.
Powerful lobbies are at work to keep their polluting industries going. Why do we not give away fossil fuels so easily? reason is the lobby politics.
Money has the potential to make or break the earth. It depends how we channelize it :)

This is a slightly indirect way of getting new Sign Ons, but an excellent way of raising awareness of Copenhagen and the need for action... and it's FUN!!
