Consultation results

So with the consultation process close to an end, I wonder how exactly the Government will react to the overall turnout this process has yielded. The feedback given by the masses and the impact Pakeha and Maori have shown at the variety of meeting places, is one of a resounding voice. SUPPORT for REDUCTION. At least 40%. Climate change, all and all affects so many different aspects of life on this earth and although the National government, obviously favours business, it's the people that voted them in so why isn't favourable for the people to decide on our nations future and ultimately its identity.

My personal reaction to the announcement was one of surprise. Not only was it short notice, but there wasn't much exposure to the whole Climate Change consultation in the first place, no form of advertising or public notification, that I saw anyway. The government has even allowed a certain timeframe for a "seperate" Maori consultation process. No doubt, I'll be approaching those Marae involved and requesting permission to put our SignOn campaign in the mix - that'd be o for awesome.

I support every single person that has signed this petition through SignOn, because we are but one of many people out in the big world who're active in making a positive change to the betterment of our whenua (land), iwi (nation) and tangata (people).

I still plea to those who either stumble upon this website or are directed to it and are contemplating their support for this campaign - SignOn, or even those who are keen on discussing the issue of climate change, to find out more. Ask questions on this forum, that's what those ambassadors are there for I'm sure and if not then there are more than enough people at Greenpeace who know what they're talking about.
