Wellington High students send a message to John Key

Wellington HighToday Wellington High School students asked John Key to take their future seriously.

Wellington sign on volunteer and student Lydia Metcalfe made a speech at school assembly letting students know about the campaign. After the assembly hundreds of students and teachers added their voice to what is now (almost) 100,000 people signing a banner reading: ‘We Can’t Afford Climate Chaos- C’mon John- Sign On!’

‘We have to reduce our emissions by 40% on 1990 levels by 2020’ Lydia said in her speech, ‘because if we don’t we’re screwed. The governments  current target is shameful.’

I couldn’t have put it better myself.
