Wellington High students send a message to John Key
Today Wellington High School students asked John Key to take their future seriously.
Wellington sign on volunteer and student Lydia Metcalfe made a speech at school assembly letting students know about the campaign. After the assembly hundreds of students and teachers added their voice to what is now (almost) 100,000 people signing a banner reading: ‘We Can’t Afford Climate Chaos- C’mon John- Sign On!’
‘We have to reduce our emissions by 40% on 1990 levels by 2020’ Lydia said in her speech, ‘because if we don’t we’re screwed. The governments current target is shameful.’
I couldn’t have put it better myself.

Excellent Jessie and well done Wellington High. Back in the day, schools, shops, factories, houses, pubs, churches, thousands of places all became Nuclear Free Zones. Lets get the same energy going with everyone supporting John Key to do the right thing. well done again
