Labour MPs Sign On
It was a gorgeous Saturday morning here in Christchurch, with the sound of beating drums and a buzzing crowd full of smiles. The Christchurch 350 day of action was in full swing by 11.30am at the New Brighton pier. Guest speakers Ruth Dyson and Lianne Dalziel from the Labour Party were more than happy to Sign On and show their support for the day’s events. The crowd, joined by some outstanding drummers, stood on the pier to show their support for the huge banner saying “There is no planet B. Climate action Now”.
We had our Sign On banner there also, held by none other than Ruth and Lianne. Christchurch’s iconic sand artist Peter Donnelly was also there to show his support with two stunning works of art. It was a fun morning and left us all feeling excited about the activities to follow in town that afternoon.
