John Key me me me

I feel a bit sick this morning. And it's not just the advent of Christmas and the alcohol-related ramifications of that, it's our Prime Minister's revolting attitude to climate action.

In particular, his comments in the New Zealand Parliament yesterday about New Zealand's unwillingness to budge (anywhere except downwards) over our emissions reduction target at Copenhagen. He basically said he's going to Denmark to win gains for New Zealand, rather than contribute to the global effort to avoid catastrophic climate change.

For this extraordinary display of self interest, he has earned New Zealand a Fossil of the Day award at the talks.

As the Greens point out, this isn't the first time we've been recipients of the award. In fact we're making quite a habit of mounting this dubious podium.
